Arts & Business Networking

The Hailsham Arts Festival team invite local businesses to join us for our Arts and Business networking event, on Monday 28th January 2013 from 6.30pm at Chapter 12 Wine Bar, High Street, Hailsham.

The evening will provide an informal setting to chat with other local business people, meet the festival organisers and learn more about the vibrant cultural community within the town. Festival director Jenny West will also talk a little about what’s in store for the 2013 Hailsham Arts Festival, a week long programme of art, music, theatre and literature events held in the town every September.

So join us at Chapter 12 on 28th January for a glass of wine and light buffet. Please RSVP to Jenny West at hailshamartsfestival@gmail.com and we'll see you there.

In the midst of Union Jack bunting and last minute bank holiday shoppers, another productive festival meeting was held at the good ship Gallery North this morning. Things are coming together nicely for an action packed week of events this September, but with just a month to go until the deadline for all programme content, there is a surprisingly long list of fine details still to be sorted!

However, as the weeks and months pass all the hair-brained ideas that had once been merely the result of tea, biscuits and brainstorming around the committee table last September (yes we started planning a week after the last one finished!) are actually becoming a reality. And that is a fantastic feeling!

Have a sneaky peak into the 2012 festival programme...

We are pleased to reveal just a few of the events in the HAF2012 programme so far:

Opening ceremony performance by classical guitarist Gabrielle Stephens
Evening of world folk music with Kalamus

Art History talk by David West

Debut production by Hailsham's own Ropemaker Theatre Company
Children's Spanish cultural show with Jamie Single
Spectacular finale with Euphoria steel band and the Brighton School of Samba

More events to be announced soon!
If you'd like to get involved, please email us at hailshamartsfestival@gmail.com or contact the Festival director Jenny West on 01323 848216

Only 6 months to go until HAF2012...

and I'm excited already!

With six months to go until Hailsham's celebration of all things cultural, plans are formulating nicely for the Hailsham Arts Festival 2012. If you have any comments, ideas for events, or would like to get more involved in organising the festival we would love to hear from you! Just email Felicity Price-Smith at hailshamartsfestival@gmail.com.
